The Vichitra Yakshini is described in the Tantra as being attractive, bewitching, enchanting, fascinating and glamorous, the word Vichitra in Hindi means strange, weird, mystical or odd; I have found no satisfactory explanation for the reason behind calling this Yakshini who is mentioned as being one of the 36 main Yakshinis as Vichitra.
